Northeast Soccer League and
Northern New England Soccer League Partnership

Portsmouth, NH (June 27, 2018) – The Northeast Soccer League (NSL) and the Northern New England Soccer League (NNESL) are pleased to announce they are collaboratively working to create development opportunities for clubs, players and coaches across the Northern New England landscape.

The NSL and NNESL share many common goals including providing a safe and appropriate development environment for all players at every competitive level.  From supporting community-based travel soccer to providing pathways for premier and elite level players, both leagues are expanding their efforts for the benefit of soccer in northern New England. This collaboration will allow both the NSL and NNESL to continue their development of competitive league pathways that are responsive to the needs of all their members.

“We are delighted to be working alongside the NNESL to create a long-term partnership that will offer the best possible competition and highest club standards for all our members.” said John Barata, Executive Director of NSL.

John Boisvert, the NNESL President, added “The NNESL is excited to affiliate with the NSL.  This relationship will foster growth and ensure competitive opportunities for clubs and athletes throughout northern New England.”

Both organizations have committed to explore joint initiatives, with the support of US Club Soccer to strengthen community-based travel and premier soccer opportunities within the New England region.  For Fall 2018, discussions will focus on an early season jamboree for younger teams, creating opportunities for inter-league play during the season for older divisions, and sponsoring end-of-season events involving teams from the NSL and qualifying teams from the NNESL.
